see, wish granted! here's the sweet pink, green, and cream cone my swap partner, amanda, made for me. it was filled with lots of lovely vintage goodies and i love the glitter H ~ i've been sparkly for days from it, literally! it's hard to see in the photo, but in between the layers of pale green lace frouff is dangly cream petite pom pom trim, it's the best! i tried very hard to resist joining this swap, but anyone who knows me knows i am the queen of cones, i've hosted cone making parties and have been making them for ever. i just love them, and have them hanging all over my house, sometimes filled with chocolates or other goodies. there's even one that holds the cat nip!

goodies on a vine
back in the studio, and i feel so much better! whipped up a tussie mussie filled with vintage goodies for my swap partner amanda, and started working on some new designs. i couldn't help but add a little bird theme ~ pink, chocolate & cream inside and out. lined with sheet music and filled with trims, tags, sheet music, and so much more...hope she likes it!photographed on my clematis & morning glory vines on the back shed, wish they grew cones like this all over!
have a great weekend ~ xo

floating
our whirl wind july with it's constant stream of visitors has come to a bittersweet end, and i'm pooped! so after scrubbing off the hand prints, swabbing the decks, fluffing, hoovering, and whipping off every slipcover adding them to the mountain of laundry, trying to set some order back in our humble abode, here i am lounging about in the pool ~ alone...how come i don't do this more often? probably because i'm not much of a water bug, but it's just what i needed, to be still, to get quiet, and just float. it felt strange at first, made me a bit agitated, guess i was so used to constant action. finally everything just melted away and i scanned my gardens, a hawk circled above the tall pines, birds chirping, my neighbor had some crazy disco with a strong bass playing, not loud ~ it was happy noise, and i admired my pedi ~ next time i'll go lighter, pinker...the best part though was planting creative seeds, ideas i haven't had time for lately, suddenly came flooding in. today i feel restored and ready to hit the studio!hope you take a few minutes for yourself today -
xo, heidi
