May Day, May Day!

I couldn't help but use the play on words, yes, help me ~ lol! If only I could get the hang of organizing my time...my daughter is right, I have time management issues. I am always fashionably late, scurrying at the last minute to gather whatever it is I need to get out the door...I digress, some things never seem to change. This last month has not made that "issue" any easier. It seems getting ready to go to Art, Paperie & Pleasantries has been one road block after another, but I am finally on my way, thanks to many extra helping hands! But you came here looking for sunshine, happiness, and eye candy, so...

My basket I created for Melissa, for Artsy Mama's May Basket Swap ~

Check out this sweet basket she made for me, so full of spring cheer!

I have it in my living room, and it puts a smile on everyone's face

Leave it to Melissa to create something unique, she's so very clever!

Here is a peek at my project for A Year of Color, this month's color is green, my favorite, believe it or not. I decided to spin that into "green" using vintage and natural elements to create these little Spring scenes under glass. The best part, no glue was used, so all can be used again. The wild violets are from my yard, they're so sweet!

Wishing you a lovely May Day, and a beautiful Spring ahead!

P.S. Please stop by my friend Mindy's blog to wish her well, she's re-launched WishStudio ~ hooray! And don't forget to enter my Giveaway!

May Giveaway ~

I'm getting ready to leave for Cali, heading to the Art, Paperie & Pleasantries show

May 2 & 3 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, CA

I'm so excited because as you all know, I love Cali! My sister will be helping me, my oldest and dearest friend is going to try and come up to help too, I get to see a bunch of my Cali friends, and new ones I will finally meet in person, and last but not least ~ can you stand the lineup of artists who will be showing...pinch me!

But before I leave, it's time for a Giveaway ~
Leave a comment on this post telling me what is strange, unique, unusual, about this photo of Rosie

OK, she'll give you another hint...

Alright Rose, that's enough, you're making it way too easy for them!

What's the prize you ask?
A surprise assortment of goodies handpicked by me, with a little help from Rosie

Leave a comment on this post, and I'll be back May 9th to announce the winner ~ best of luck!

P.S.
If you are coming to the show, please be sure to stop by and say hello, I'd love to meet you!

Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day!

I hope you find a special way to celebrate ~ each year we do this, and plant a few new things in our yard. Looks like I'll be on the lookout for a new hydrangea tree; one of my daughters friends, (in a way too big truck) drove on the lawn to get around the other parked cars, and decapitated mine ~ *sniff*~ poor little tree!

And for our "Family Fun Day" this week we plan to go see Earth
It looks amazing, and I'm thinking a real tear jerker!

How do you celebrate?

P.S. Be sure to check Artsy Mama's, A Year of Color blog this May for a "green" project created by moi!

Happy Easter ~

Easter Greetings ~ Hope you have a lovely day!

I'm having Photo Shop issues, as in it will not allow me to save anything I create, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to post ~ hopefully I'll figure it out soon! Maybe just as well that I focus my energies on getting ready for Art, Paperie & Pleasantries!

Marie's shoe ~

I have cute shoe envy...

My feet are more of the evil stepsister variety - 8.5 wide. Basically relegated to clogs and other clunky looking shoes ~ sigh. Don't get me wrong, I do love clogs, I just wish I could squeeze my foot into something prettier once in a while. Maybe that's why I signed up to do an altered shoe in my Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group.

When I was creating, I couldn't help but think about her country home, that she loved.

A simple life free from the demands, loneliness, and drama of the Palace

With it's cutting gardens filled with vintage roses . . .

Reminder ~ Just one more day to join this month's Giveaway Challenge!
